Pros and cons of Microgue app for iPhone and iPad
Microgue app good for
Cheerful focused rogue-like game with a great design. So good to see that clever games like this are still being made for mobile. An unexpected delight.
At first the game seemed simple and too hard, but as you learn the monsters, through trial and error, it becomes a puzzle game.
Not an easy task to beat, unsure wether every play through is actually possible, or if I keep making mistakes.
it is not like your usual rogue like game, its a puzzle game you dont level, you cant equip more powerful weapons but it is really addicting and challenging, worth every penny!
btw that guy who says in a review that u see only half the screen must be blind or his device broken, the game visuals are perfect! ;)
Plays a bit like chess , pretty fun. What I fear though is that the game ends once you get through the tower which is only 10 levels deep, then you make your way back to level 1. If the game is over after that I will be disappointed , and would like to see more content as essentially all the characters are on the cover image - not many.
Some bad moments
The game dont fit in the screen, always in 90º. When the screen is in landscape, the game is in portrait, impossible to play.
It only uses a tiny portion of the screen and so is virtually unplayable.
On iphone5
Charming style, that the only good thing I can say about this. Gameplay is painfully boring and lacks any form on innovation. Dont waste you time.
Game is great but switching to anu other app kills it in 90% scenarios - you need to start again from lv 1...as an iOS developer Im aware that this issue is not related to my device and low memory warnings.
Aspect ratio is incorrect.
Looks enjoyable, but its impossible to play in its current state.
Fun game, like a simplified hoplite. Only problem Ive had with it so far is my game reseting every time I leave the window even if for a split second. Very inconvenient (game crippling almost, resist the urge to reply to texts in the off chance it drags me to the text window instead of using the hot bar) good game for bursts of 5-20 minutes so long as that is ALL you are doing. ~review platform, 128gb 6+
